Gloryholder LGM to supply the LNG bunkering system for Damen 6000m3 Bunkering vessel
The contract was signed during autumn 2018 and the delivery of the of the LGC 6000 LNG vessel is scheduled for August 2020. The Bunker vessel, which will operate in the Baltic Sea, will be an important contribution to the development of the LNG bunkering infrastructure in the region and significantly increase the availability of LNG for the increasing fleet of LNG fuelled vessels operating in the area.
This is the second contract for design and supply of complete cargo handling systems for LNG bunker vessels awarded to Gloryholder LGM within a short time frame. In 2018 Gloryholder was also selected as system provider for a 7500m3 LNG bunker vessel which will operate in Singapore area when delivered in 2020. “We are very proud of the international recognition of our LNG bunkering systems and to be able to contribute with our technology to the development of an environmentally friendly shipping industry”, said Mr. Liu, CEO at Gloryholder LGM.
The 100-metre bunkering vessel will be built at Damen Yichang Shipyard in China and will carry 6,000m³ of LNG divided in two 3000m3 type-C tanks. The system is designed for efficient bunkering operation which is vital for many shipowners, where fast turnaround times are essential for providing a good service to their customers.
The LGC 6000 LNG is also designed to meet the requirements of ICE class 1A certification and to achieve green ship notation. A dual fuel propulsion system will be used for the management of the BoilOff Gas (BOG) in combination with a gas burner, and the interior of the vessel will feature high-quality accommodation for her crew.
