Havyard secures record cruise design contract
The record contract for Havyard will also see it provide an extendive equipment package for the vessels being built by Tersan and Barreras
“I am delighted to announce that the last obstacles to the building contracts have now been removed, thereby securing delivery in the third and fourth quarter 2020,” said Arild Myrvoll, CEO of Havila Kystruten.

Havyard Design & Solutions has been working on the design for some time and the steel class drawings have already been completed, which means that the steel cutting will begin before the year is out.
Both Havyard Group companies and other Norwegian equipment suppliers will deliver equipment for the package, which will create ripple effects in the Norwegian maritime cluster.
“The close collaboration between the customer and the companies in the maritime cluster has enabled a design and equipment package to be put together that really delivers on the qualities the customer was looking for,” said Arve Helsem Leine, design manager, Havyard Design & Solutions.
With the aid of advanced simulation models, technological innovations and optimal adaptation of the hull and equipment, Havyard Design & Solutions said it has designed a vessel that meets the Ministry of Transport and Communications’ requirements by a wide margin.
This means that Havila Kystruten’s vessels should make a significant contribution to conserving the environment along the route the ships will sail.
