Total Lubmarine to host Sulphur Cap forums

Importer
Topics under discussion at Total's Sulphur Forum include future High Sulphur Fuel Oil (HSFO) availability

The forum will address supply chain issues such as the availability of Total’s fuel and lubricant products in major hubs, as well as onboard technical issues. Other topics include the availability and quality of low sulphur fuels, the future availability of high sulphur fuels, and compatible choices for lubricants. The possibility of using liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a solution to environmental regulations will also be addressed.

The forums will be open to shipowners and operators as well as other industry participants and are designed to help address practical questions while ship operators are creating, refining and implementing their compliance strategies.

Total said: “The IMO 2020 Global Sulphur Cap deadline is fast approaching. Shipowners and operators are creating, refining and implementing their compliance strategies. The benefit of having a holistic overview of the fuels and lubricants options available is essential to secure a safe transition in 2020, and to perform beyond.”

Total will host the first event in Athens on 6 March, and a second event in London on 21 March. More dates to be announced soon.
