World first for integrated bridge solution

The Reisa, the fourth in Havyard’s ‘Havtrans’ series, is said to offer greater salmon capacity, enhanced fish welfare and a greener propulsion system. It is equipped with the Raven INS which has been granted by DNV GL the world’s first type approval for a bridge solution comprising an integrated system instead of combining different pieces of software.

The integrated bridge allows for simpler and more flexible use, provides improved operational reliability and allows data to be shared with those on shore.

“Raven INS integrates the different programs for charts, route planning, radar, autopilot, trackpilot etc. into a comprehensive program and a bridge solution with all software and hardware, as well as an integrated operator’s seat,” said sales & BID manager smart control, Svein Ove Farstad. “This makes the bridge easier to use and improves operational reliability.”

Raven INS allows users to easily adapt the monitors and screen layout as needed and the bridge on board new wellboat, Reisa, has been tailored to the boat’s specific operations. The integrated solution improves safety with its deliberate redundancy ensuring that, if one monitor or computer fails, others will take over. It also allows new functions such as engine alarm monitoring, thruster control or navigation light controls to be added as and when required.
