Cummins launches remote monitoring solution for inland US customers
The solution monitors Cummins powered assets remotely, using connectivity, big data, advanced analytics, and IoT to help avoid unplanned downtime through the advanced detection, reporting, and diagnosis of potential engine health issues.
Cummins has offered PrevenTech to customers in the transportation sector since 2018.
“PrevenTech delivers deeper, actionable insights around the health and performance of Cummins engines and genset controls for customer peace of mind. We have and will continue to explore the most efficient and convenient ways to make this value-add information to suit all marine applications,” said Rachel Bridges, Cummins Director and General Manager of Global Marine.
During the initial launch, customers will need to have an active Siren Marine Connected Boat® solution installation, to enable real-time transmission of encrypted engine data. Cummins noted that Siren Marine’s technology enables vessel-wide monitoring allowing customers to track and manage vessels and fleets through a convenient online portal.
The solution would initially cover Cummins 6.7L, 8.3L, 9L, 11L, 15L, 19L and 38L engines.
Cummins noted that it planned to extend the geographical scope of the solution beyond the inland US market, and to introduce additional solutions providers.
The PrevenTech Marine solution also offers integration with Cummins’ FleetguardFIT™ (FIT – Filtration Intelligence Technology) real-time filtration, oil, and hydraulic fluid quality monitoring solution. By combining FleetguardFIT with PrevenTech, the condition monitoring capabilities can be extended to cover consumables.
