Høglund to retrofit IAS on board cruise ship

The work to retrofit Color Fantasy will encompass a new alarm and monitoring system, automation and control system, power management system and ship performance monitor.

Sales manager, Oscar Jørgensen, said the company was delighted to have been chosen. “Our advanced automation solutions will significantly improve the functionality of Color Fantasy, enabling it to operate more efficiently and safely,” he said.

The Color Fantasy and its sister ship, Color Magic, are the world’s largest cruise ships with car deck. With a passenger capacity of 2,800 and a crew of 250, the vessel offers a wide range of amenities including restaurants, bars, a spa, a fitness centre, and a casino.

Høglund says its automation solutions will enable Color Fantasy to operate more efficiently and safely, reducing downtime and increasing reliability. The retrofit is also an important step in Color Line’s digitalisation journey, as Høglund has simplified data collection to shore.

Work is scheduled to take place in January 2024 and expected to take 17 days during which time the vessel will be in dry dock. Color Fantasy is the third Color Line vessel undergoing an IAS retrofit from Høglund.
