New CEO for IMarEST

He joins from Hong Kong’s Tamar Ship Management, where he had served as technical director prior to his IMarEST appointment.

In a press release accompanying the announcement, Chris Goldsworthy stated: “It’s an honour to take on this role for the Institute that I have been a passionate member of since I started my career. The Institute is unique in bringing together engineers, scientists and technologists in the sector and I am looking forward to working with our members to solve some of the biggest challenges we have ever faced, to shape a more sustainable future for the marine sector.”

Goldsworthy has occupied a variety of technical, fleet, management and director positions over the course of his career. He spent 16 years at sea, rising to the rank of Chief Engineer Officer with P&O Containers before transitioning to shore-based roles in 2005 as a Technical Superintendent. Throughout his career, he has overseen diverse fleets, nurtured strong teams, and provided strategic leadership to boards and executives, exemplifying his technical acumen and leadership prowess.
