Höegh Autoliners secures significant car carrier contract

The long-term contract underscores the company’s position as a preferred carrier in this key trade lane. It also aligns with Höegh Autoliners’ strategic focus on serving its top customers and allocating capacity efficiently.

The company is investing heavily in its fleet to meet growing demand and reduce its environmental impact. Höegh Autoliners has ordered a dozen of the world’s largest and most environmentally friendly car carriers, the Aurora class vessels. These ships will be capable of operating on ammonia, a zero-carbon fuel, by 2027.

The first Aurora class vessel is currently undergoing sea trials and is expected to enter service later this year. Höegh Autoliners has also secured significant government funding to support the development of its ammonia-powered fleet.
