IRS and SeaTech partner on sustainability

The partnership will focus on the design and classification of next-generation green tugs and harbour craft for global operations.

“SeaTech’s expertise in maritime design, combined with IRS’s technical rigour, will play a key role in shaping the future of green shipping worldwide.”

SeaTech will lead the design and engineering for these eco-friendly vessels whilst IRS will review and approve these designs for both local and international shipping demands.

A key initiative under the MoU is the Green Tug Transition Program and the ‘Harit Nauka – Green Transition Guidelines’ established by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India.

The collaboration will also see the retrofitting of inland vessels, engineering reviews for compliance and the launch of joint training programmes to enhance maritime industry skills.
