Built by Hanwha Ocean Co. in South Korea, the 299m vessel will have a capacity of 200,000m3 and will be the first FRSU to be moored at Jurong Port in Singapore.

MOL says it has accumulated many years of experience operating FSRUs in diverse regions and environments, including Turkey, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

The company has been developing its global FSRU business to meet the needs of customers who want to diversify their procurement of LNG and ensure a stable supply of energy, and has recently entered into an agreement on an FSRU project in Poland.

MOL Group says it aims to develop social infrastructure businesses alongside its traditional shipping businesses.

This project is in line with the growth of these non-shipping businesses set out in its ‘Blue Action 2035’ management plan and in its ‘MOL Group Environmental Vision 2.2’
