InterManager names new president
Currently chief executive of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), von Hardenberg succeeds Mark O’Neil, chief executive of Columbia Group, who has served as president for the past four years and was pivotal in the development of InterManager’s General Principles of Conduct and Action.
“I am honoured to have been elected as president of InterManager and pledge to work proactively with our members and industry stakeholders to strengthen global partnerships and foster forward-thinking solutions to the challenges we face,” said von Hardenberg.
“InterManager is shaping the future of the ship management sector, and we firmly believe that we are stronger and better together.”
As vice president of InterManager, von Hardenberg played a key role in discussions with the European Union on the potential effects of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and the FuelEU initiative on ship managers.
A law graduate, he joined the Schulte Group in 2005 and served as chief finance officer of BSM before being appointed chief executive earlier this year.
The decision was made at the association’s annual general meeting in London. During the meeting Raal Harris, chief creative officer of Ocean Technologies Group, was elected vice president and thanks were expressed to Ajay Tripathi who has stood down after 17 years as treasurer.
