Elevating digital standards in LPG shipping

The partnership leverages Oceanly’s Performance Base and Performance Lite systems to improve fleet optimisation and streamline reporting across BW LPG’s vessels.

“Without doubt the amount of onboard form validation, whether it’s the auto-calculated fields or data field allowable parameters is starting to show a large reduction in re-work, both ashore and afloat,” said Kevin Knott, senior manager, fleet performance at BW LPG.

”As familiarity with the system grows, I would only expect this to reduce further. In particular, the bunker parcel ID’s, fuel ROB’s and consumptions are much improved as compared to pre-Oceanly VRT.”

Real-time analytics

A key aspect of this partnership is the integration with DNV Veracity, which significantly enhances data validation and operational integrity.

BW LPG’s owned vessels are now equipped with the ‘Performance Base’ system, providing onboard crew with real-time analytics and alerts for operational decision-making.

Meanwhile, chartered vessels benefit from the ‘Performance Lite’ system, a web-based solution that requires no onboard installation and activates within 30 minutes, ideal for time-charter scenarios.

The rollout of the systems includes a custom ’Parcel Management’ module to optimise fuel tracking, improving bunker management and reducing operational costs.

It’s a collaboration which both parties said is already yielding measurable improvements in form validation and bunker data management, setting a new benchmark in LPG shipping fleet optimisation.
