Anemoi and CHI expand Rotor partnership
The renewed partnership strengthens a collaboration that began in 2022 and has already seen the successful installation of nine Rotor Sails at CHI yards.
Completed projects include very large ore carrier installations for Vale and U-Ming at CHI Zhoushan, establishing a track record for large-scale wind-assisted propulsion retrofits.
“Renewing our framework agreement with CHI marks a major benefit for our customers,” said Nick Contopoulos, chief commercial officer of Anemoi.
“By combining CHI’s installation expertise with our proven Rotor Sail technology, we can deliver even more value, clarity and confidence to owners looking to retrofit or install wind-assisted propulsion on their newbuild vessels.”
Under the updated agreement, Anemoi customers will be able to access CHI’s full suite of technical services, from integration design and engineering to onboard installation, at any CHI subsidiary shipyard. The companies say the arrangement provides shipowners with greater flexibility, transparency on installation costs, and confidence in project delivery.
