New staff appointments at DNV Petroleum Services
Georgios Sigalas – Customer Service Manager, DNVPS Piraeus
Georgios Sigalas graduated in 1997 from the University of Bradford in mechanical engineering and holds an MSc in manufacturing systems engineering from the same university, as well as an MBA from the University of Hertfordshire. Upon completing his studies in 1999, Mr Sigalas worked as a Quality Engineer with Federal Mogul Bradford Ltd for two years before returning to Greece, where he has held positions in customer service, sales and marketing at General Motors and Mercedes-Benz before joining DNVPS. “With his excellent sales and customer care track record at quality-oriented companies like Mercedes Benz, Georgios Sigalas is a valuable addition to the team at DNVPS Piraeus,” says DNVPS regional manager (Rotterdam) Bill Stamatopoulos. “We look forward to his contributions in meeting our clients’ expectations.”
Per Bjornsen – Technical Adviser, DNVPS Oslo
Per Bjornsen has 27 years of seagoing experience as a Chief Engineer with Einar Rasmussens Rederi; Color Line; Residensa, The World; and Leif Hoegh. He came ashore in 2007 and was a senior engine maintenance superintendent at Leif Hoegh before joining DNVPS. Mr Bjornsen is knowledgeable and experienced in fleet engine monitoring, having developed inhouse monitoring systems for Hoegh Fleet Service in cooperation with KYMA and Kongsberg Maritime.
Paal Sandgren, Customer Service Manager, DNVPS Oslo
Paal Sandgren brings to DNVPS Oslo 13 years of seagoing experience. He obtained his Chief Engineer’s Licence in 1985 and has sailed with L Gill Johannssen and Onstad Shipping. Mr Sandgren came ashore in 1986, and over the next 17 years he held sales and marketing positions at Norcontrol/Kongsberg Maritime, taking care of the company’s markets in Europe and the Americas. Between 2004 and 2007, Mr Sandgren was an area sales manager at Seagull AS. He joined DNV SeaSkill in 2008 and was later appointed DNV Maritime area sales manager for Finland and the Baltic States, before moving over to DNVPS Oslo.
Arne Bratland Veseth, Customer Service Manager, DNVPS Oslo
Arne Veseth graduated in 2003 with a BSc (Honours) in Shipping Operations from the Southampton Institute. For the past nine years, he has worked as a vessel operator at Nordicon AB, Lorentzen & Stemoco AS, Cargill International SA and Eastern Bulk Carriers AS.
DNVPS regional manager (Oslo) Knut-Helge Knutsen welcomes the new appointments at DNVPS Oslo.
