New order for Sinopacific Shipbuilding

Mr Dagher Al Marar, CEO of ESNAAD and Mr Simon Liang, Chairman and CEO of Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group signed the contract in Abu Dhabi

The new contract was signed recently by both parties in Abu Dhabi and will see Sinopacific deliver all nine vessels in 2017.

ADNOC’s new vessels will be of the SPA80A design, which is an AHTS with electric propulsion system and a bollard pull of 80mt designed by Shanghai Design Associates (SDA) and the Sinopacific OSV design team.

But the vessel’s basic design has been tailored to ADNOC’s specific requirements and has been designed, says Sinopacific, according to the highest standards in similar types of vessel. It will ensure the delivery of reliable and efficient performances under the complex conditions of shallow water, high salinity, high temperatures and high humidity in the Persian Gulf.

This particular design was shortlisted as one of the best ship designs back in 2012 by Offshore Support Journal.

ADNOC first launched the bid process for the new-building project in 2013. The tender was then handed over to be managed by ESNAAD, its wholly-owned subsidiary.
