The vessel is to be delivered by Myklebust Verft in September 2017 and is of NVC 374 WP design from Rolls-Royce. Two vessels of the same design were ordered by DFFU in June this year.

“We look forward to working with the customer on the building of this state of the art trawler, where safety, low emissions and operational efficiency have been centre of attention in the process leading up to the contract,” said Ståle Rasmussen, CEO of Kleven.

“Since June, we have signed five new build contracts for Myklebust Verft. Rolls-Royce is a key partner in many of the projects, and we highly appreciate the co-operation that has developed between our companies,” he added.

The stern trawler will be ICE 1A* classed, and will also include a large equipment package from Rolls-Royce.

Equipment will include the main engine, auxiliary engines, thruster, automation and hydraulic winches.

The vessel owner decided on the Rolls-Royce NVC 374 Wave Piercing (WP) design, which features an onboard factory for the production of fish filet, and has a storage capacity of 1,400 cubic metres. The design also features a 550 cubic metre fishmeal storage hold.

Kleven now have 17 vessel in the orderbook, at a total value of close to NOK11bn.
