ABC unveils the Evolve 8EL23

Speaking at the launch event held at SMM Hamburg, the company presented the Evolve 8EL23, the newest member of its inline engine range, to a highly engaged audience. The 8EL23 joins the previously released 4EL23 and 6EL23 models, underscoring ABC’s commitment to sustainability and reaffirming the relevance of combustion engine technology in the energy transition.

The Evolve EL23 engine platform is designed to meet the needs of modern shipping with its reliable performance and ultra-low to zero emissions. At the heart of this design is a versatile cylinder head that allows for seamless conversion between liquid, dual-fuel, and gaseous fuel configurations. The platform’s pre-engineered adaptability ensures that ship operators are not locked into a single fuel source, making the Evolve 8EL23 a resilient and future-proof investment.

In today’s complex global landscape, marked by supply chain challenges, geopolitical tensions, and economic uncertainties, ABC’s Evolve inline engines provide stability and reliability. The entire EL23 engine range is manufactured at ABC’s state-of-the-art facility in Ghent, Belgium, with all components sourced from within the EU. Notably, 85% of these components are produced in-house by ABC, and no rare or scarce materials are used in their construction.
