Brazilian offshore contract for Rolls-Royce

The two oil spill response vessels (OSRV), are being built for Brazilian owner Asgaard Navegação. They will be to the UT 535 E design, with systems to transfer recovered oil for proper onshore disposal, thus preventing damage from oil spills.

The Rolls-Royce scope of equipment supply includes propulsion systems, thrusters, DP systems, power electrical systems, automation and control systems, deck machinery and MTU engines. The ships are due for delivery in 2015, with an option to build two more. The contract is worth around £11 million to Rolls-Royce.

The Aliança shipyard is owned by CBO (Companhia Brasileira de Offshore) and has previously built 10 Rolls-Royce vessels for CBO’s own fleet.
