The company has restructured its operational framework, appointing three senior vice presidents to oversee key regions:

  • David Barrow will head up Western Europe and the Americas, bringing over 35 years of industry experience to the role.
  • Paillette Palaiologou will lead the Eastern Europe, Mediterranean Sea, Middle East, India, and Africa region, leveraging her extensive technical expertise and market knowledge.
  • Alex Gregg-Smith will take the helm of the Asia Pacific region, combining the previous North Asia and Southeast Asia Pacific zones under his leadership.

To further enhance its presence in the crucial Southeast Asia Pacific market, Lilli Chi has been appointed vice president for the region, based in Singapore.

In addition to these regional appointments, Pierre de Chateau Thierry has been named vice president and chief commercial officer, tasked with driving BV’s commercial strategy globally.

Recognising the importance of sustainability and innovation, BV has established a Future Shipping Team led by Suba Sivandran. The team will focus on developing solutions for a safer and more sustainable shipping industry, exploring areas such as alternative fuels, wind-assisted propulsion, and nuclear energy.

Matthieu de Tugny, president of Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore, emphasised the importance of talent development and collaboration in shaping the future of shipping. “These appointments reflect our commitment to building a strong leadership team to navigate the industry’s challenges and opportunities,” he said.

The company’s strategic focus on people, technology, and collaboration positions BV to deliver added value to its clients and contribute to a more sustainable maritime sector.
