CBO orders Ulstein PSV

The vessel will be the eleventh from Ulstein in CBO’s fleet, of which nine feature Ulstein’s X-bow hull line. The new vessel will be built at Aliança shipyard in Rio de Janeiro, and the contract includes an option for two more vessels.

“Due to the excellent performance demonstrated by our PX105 and PX106 vessels, we decided to build another Ulstein PX105 at the Estaleiro Aliança,” said Alfredo Naslausky, director, CBO.

The contract includes design and an extended main equipment package. The vessel is designed to comply with the Brazilian state oil company Petrobras 4500 tender, and is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2016.

The PX105 design is a large PSV with accommodation for 23 people. The vessel will be 88.9m long and 19m wide and has a cargo deck area of around 940m2. These vessels have a high operational window and can take on complex assignments far from shore. They feature X-bow hull line, which eliminates slamming from waves.

“CBO is a good customer, and when they choose to build our PSV designs it is a confirmation that they are satisfied with the performance and capacities of their existing Ulstein vessels,” said Kim Lillebø, sales manager for Brazil, Ulstein Design & Solutions.

The contract also includes Ulstein’s integrated automation system (IAS), communication system (COM) and Bridge, complete with integrated radio and navigation equipment.
