Chevron opens FAST analysis lab in China

The facility offers the ability to analyse FAST and DOT.FAST cylinder lubricant samples with a more speedy turn around for vessels visiting Chinese ports. Testing is conducted by Chevron’s lubricants analysis partner SGS in a laboratory in Shanghai.

The new location provides the same format of testing, reporting and commenting while using a common database ensuring access to FASTWeb for historical trends and results.

Chia Yoo Soon, general manager, Chevron Marine Lubricants, said: “The introduction of FASTTM testing facilities in China will significantly reduce the time taken for samples in transit to existing laboratories, meaning faster results and improved on board monitoring.”
