Chinese manufacture for Anemoi rotor sails

Located in Jingjiang City on the Yangtze River, the new site is purpose-built to support high-volume manufacturing, with an annual capacity of 250 rotor sails and space to expand. 

“This is more than just a new site,” said Clare Urmston, CEO of Anemoi.

“It’s a fully integrated, end-to-end production hub where every stage, from fabrication to testing, is handled under one roof – driving scale, quality and speed to market.”

Strategically placed

The production facility’s strategic location near major shipyards and with direct barge access allows for easier delivery and installation.

Anemoi’s facility was co-developed with CRRC Qishuyan Institute, combining British design with China’s industrial capabilities.

The site also partners with Zhongfu for advanced composite rotor skins and Daming Heavy Industries for precision steel fabrication, further solidifying China’s role in the global wind propulsion supply chain.

As demand for sustainable shipping accelerates, the facility could have a sizeable impact on where and how green maritime technologies are built and deployed.

Back in May, Anemoi Marine Technologies, announced the successful independent verification of its Rotor Sail system, following nearly a year of extensive testing.

The verification, conducted by Lloyd’s Register Advisory, confirmed an average of 1.9 tonnes of fuel savings per day and 7.0 tonnes of CO2 emissions reductions per day, corresponding to a 9.1% net savings in fuel and emissions.
