Elomatic M&A

The acquisition strengthens Elomatic’s capabilities in the maritime sector, expanding its service portfolio to offer shipowners a full suite of technical solutions.

ALCS brings extensive expertise in managing refit and retrofit projects, further enhancing Elomatic’s already well-established marine sector proficiency. This move broadens Elomatic’s scope beyond design solutions, positioning it as a comprehensive solutions provider for shipowners seeking both technical services and cutting-edge engineering expertise.

By integrating ALCS’s knowledge in fleetwide conversions and technical upgrades with its own fuel and energy efficiency solutions, Elomatic is set to deliver a more complete offering to help shipowners meet increasingly stringent sustainability targets. The acquisition bolsters Elomatic’s ability to support compliance with evolving emissions regulations, including CII and EEXI requirements.

Elomatic will now extend its expertise into key areas such as battery energy storage systems (BESS), air lubrication systems (ALS), scrubber conversions, future fuel upgrades, and life-saving appliances. When combined with Elomatic’s existing innovations, including the patented Elogrid™ tunnel thruster grid system, this expanded portfolio is designed to provide shipowners with effective solutions for fuel savings and energy efficiency.

Rami Hirsimäki, senior vice president, Marine at Elomatic, described the acquisition as a major milestone in the company’s strategic development. He emphasised that the consolidation of Elomatic and ALCS will pave the way for future growth and innovation in marine engineering, supporting the industry’s shift towards more sustainable and efficient operations.

Hannu Petäjäsuvanto, CEO of ALCS, highlighted the significance of the acquisition for ALCS, noting that joining forces with Elomatic aligns with their shared customer-centric and forward-looking values. He expressed confidence that the partnership would create new opportunities for growth and development, ultimately enhancing support for shipowners worldwide.

As the maritime industry continues to adapt to stricter environmental regulations, the expanded capabilities resulting from this acquisition position Elomatic to offer comprehensive, future-proof solutions that address the sector’s evolving demands.
