ExxonMobil launches additive enhanced system oil
ExxonMobil claims that a unique detergent system helps to prevent the build-up of piston undercrown deposits. The additive package, said to provide enhanced protection for high-wear parts including gear drives and bearings, makes the oil less susceptible to thickening and deposits by offering resistance to high temperature oxidisation.
Mobilgard 300 C, which is approved for use in the latest design engines from Man Diesel & Turbo and Wärtsilä, is also said to offer high demulsibility, separating easily from water and preventing poor lubricity, corrosion and rust in the engine.
Iain White, global marine marketing manager, ExxonMobil, said: “Mobilgard 300 C is a high-performance system oil that is formulated to optimise the performance and extend the life of slow-speed marine engines. It has been developed with a proprietry detergent system to ensure it delivers enchanced engine cleanliness and helps vessel operators increase reliability and reduce operating costs.”
