First UEC33LSH-C2 main engine built in China
The engine will be installed on a coastal bulk carrier built by Yizheng Yangzi Shipbuilding Industry.

The UEC33LSH-C2 engine was developed as a strategic core engine to strengthen the line-up of the popular LSH series. It is characterized by an ultra-wide rating (approximately 34% larger than the original rating) that covers a wide range from low to high engine speed so that it can be used by a range of vessels including small bulk carriers, chemical tankers, cement carriers, and LPG carriers.
The engine reduces mechanical loss and incorporates various design concepts from the LSH series such as the high performance turbocharger. Compared to a long-selling UE small engine, UEC33LSII, it reduces fuel consumption by approximately 4%. For IMO NOx Tier 3 regulations, a low-pressure SCR system is available and flexible in layout.
The engine was developed in cooperation with YDE to capture the booming demand for the replacement of coastal vessels in China, and YDE already has orders for 10 sets of engines.
J-ENG aims to further expand its UE engine licensing business and market share by targeting the coastal vessel markets in cooperation with domestic and overseas licensees.
