Flagstad-Andersen appointed as DNV GL North Europe manager

Tuva Flagstad-Andersen has over 17 years’ experience working with the classification society, where she has occupied a series of progressively more senior technical and managerial roles. Most recently, Flagstad-Andersen served as manager for Finland, Russia and the Baltic states. Tuva Flagstad-Andersen has a postgraduate degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from NTNU Trondheim.

In her new role, Flagstad-Andersen will assume responsibility for the Norwegian market, which along with Germany and Greece is one of DNV GL-Maritime’s home markets.

Speaking yesterday in Bergen, Flagstad-Andersen said market conditions were likely to remain challenging in 2019, as the market continues to adjust to a new normal of slower growth, constrained margins and intensifying competition. However, companies within the region were playing a leading role in driving technological shifts in the industry, in areas as diverse as AI, autonomous vessels and machine learning, as well as digitalisation related innovations in connectivity, data generation and condition-based monitoring.

“DNV GL will remain an active contributor and facilitator where innovations take place and offer professional support and advice to maritime actors and governments,” said Flagstad-Andersen.
