Development of other products followed, including fuel oil modules, ship performance monitoring and emissions monitoring.

In 2009 Heishin further diversified into agricultural markets, developing hydroponic systems to grow vegetables in a sustained way by reducing energy consumption and increasing the yield and quality of crops. The company operates two small farms in Japan where research and development is carried out and has established sales of hydroponic systems throughout Asia, most notably in Japan, China and Indonesia.

In 2016 Heishin developed the worlds first hydroponic vegetable grower specifically designed for ships. Successful trials were carried out on a number of vessels over a two year period and these systems have been well received by shipowners as well as ships crews.
