Infineum opens China blending plant

The 100,000sq m facility has capacity to produce 100,000 tonnes of lubricant additive a year. The plant is Infineum’s first wholly-owned manufacturing base in China has been opened to satisfy the country’s rapidly rising demand for lubricant additives.

The move is part of a rapid expansion of Infineum’s business in China in recent years. In 2013 it opened Infineum (Shanghai) Additives Co, and the following year it opened the China Business & Technology Center – focused on marketing, supply, technology support and customer service – to strengthen collaboration with its customers.

Infineum Global CEO Xavier le Mintier said: “The plant is an important milestone to further serve our ambitious strategy in China. The safety performance, the ability to construct and start this facility without a single recordable incident, is the most outstanding part of this project. This success has been made possible by the quality of the cooperation among three parties: Infineum, the TCC project team and the Zhangjiagang municipal government and ZJG free trade zone management committee.”
