Keel laid for EcoBulk Carrier

The first, Misje Vita, was delivered earlier this year in September.

The 89.95 metre carriers have a capacity of 5,000 DWT for cargo such as bulk cargo, grain, timber, unit loads and containers.

They each feature a fully integrated Wärtsilä Hybrid Solution which enables emissions-free cargo operations and entry and exit into port.

Wärtsilä’s scope of supply includes a Wärtsilä 20 main engine, Wärtsilä NOx reducer, power transmission system, controllable pitch propeller, Wärtsilä ProTouch bridge control system, electrical and automation systems, hybrid battery solutions, energy management system (EMS), transformers, motors and shaft line.

The EMS functions as the ‘brain’ in the Wärtsilä Hybrid solution optimising the energy flows between the different power sources, storage and consumers to achieve the highest efficiency possible.

CDPLC operates in joint collaboration with Onimichi Dockyard Company in Japan with a 35% stake by Sri Lankan government institutions.
