Kleven signs NOK 1.4 bn deal with Østensjø

The ship will be built at the Kleven Verft Ulsteinvik yard, and is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2016. On delivery, it will enter into a long-term charter for Deep Ocean. With a total contract value of NOK 1.4 billion, Kleven says this is its largest contract to date.

The vessel will be equipped with a 400t crane, a 70t crane, vertical lay system and carousel.

“It is a great pleasure for us to be able to welcome Østensjø back to Kleven, 10 years after our last delivery to them,” said Kleven CEO Ståle Rasmussen. “We operate in a highly competitive international market, and it is very satisfying that we win contracts to build extremely advanced vessels like this. We have made large investments over the past few years to ensure that we can continue the proud ship building traditions we have, and parts of this vessel will be produced on our new robotised welding line in Ulsteinvik.”

Kleven’s current order book comprises 13 vessels, with total value of around NOK 7.9 billion.
