Launch of first Bangladesh-flagged vessel built under IRClass

The 82.5-metre long General Cargo vessel is the first in a series of five vessels. The vessel is designed to meet the latest IMO conventions and codes for worldwide operations, the classification society noted in a press release.

The vessel is the latest to have been built under IRClass’ classification and delivered during the current pandemic. IRClass’ efforts to ensure that work was delivered during the pandemic were recognised by the shipyard.

Mr. Amit Bhatnagar, Regional Manager East Coast of India and Bangladesh for IRClass commented: “I am delighted with our team in Bangladesh who have worked tirelessly during this period to facilitate the successful construction and launch of the vessel.
