MAN 175D hybrid-propulsion package for Indonesian Navy minehunters

The twin high-speed MAN 12V175D-MM engines chosen for this project deliver 2,220 kW at 1,900 rpm. The Indonesian Navy minehunters will feature a MAN Alpha CPP twin screw-propeller system, including an Alphatronic 3000 propulsion-control system, for efficient and flexible manoeuvring. The complete hybrid-propulsion package includes an AKA hybrid PTI system, which will allow the minehunters to operate with pure electric propulsion at slow speeds during operations.

The Indonesian Navy already has experience of operating patrol vessels equipped with 12V175D-MM engines.

MAN ES recently confirmed several orders for 175D engines, including an order for 16 × 175D units for a series of corvettes for the Finnish Navy. The engine builder also concluded an order for complete propulsion packages including 175D engines for two OPV-45 offshore patrol vessels that are currently under construction at Israel Shipyards in Haifa for an undisclosed African navy.
