MAN 175Ds for Svitzer tugs

The engines will provide mechanical propulsion power for the TRAnsverse tugs, which are earmarked for operations as part of Svitzer’s Australian fleet upon delivery.

They will be manufactured at MAN Energy Solutions’ Frederikshavn facility in Denmark with delivery scheduled for November and December 2023, while vessel completion is planned for late 2024.

As part of its decarbonisation strategy, Svitzer is gradually introducing new, low-emission fuel types into its operations. The new engines will provide the opportunity to run on HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil).
