NavFleet revolutionises fleet management

Acting as an extension of the existing desktop-based NavFleet platform, the app delivers real-time insights and control directly to users’ devices.

“Sometimes you don’t know you need something until you experience it,” said Tor Håkon Svanes, product manager for NavFleet. “Then, when you see what it can do, you realise you can’t live without it.”

The app allows users to proactively manage vessel operations by delivering notifications tailored to specific needs ranging from speed limit breaches to route deviations. Users can immediately react, investigate and comment on incidents, turning traditional passive monitoring into dynamic decision-making.

“It has the potential to turn reactive fleet management proactive, putting office-based teams in complete control of their assets,” said Svanes. “It, quite literally, puts your entire fleet in the palm of your hand.”

Beyond simple alerts, the app also serves as a secure communication hub enabling swift, coordinated responses to problems without redundant calls or delays.

Svanes says the app’s development was guided by customer feedback and Navtor’s experience on over 18,000 vessels. “This really is co-developed with our customers… an app that gives you control of your global fleet,” he said.

He also says that future updates are already in the pipeline. “This is about staying one step ahead, helping our users navigate the world of smart shipping today and tomorrow,” he concluded.
