New company focuses on hydrogen engines

With a view to contributing to decarbonisation in Japan and promoting development in the shipbuilding and maritime industry, the three companies have agreed to establish a new company, HyEng Corporation.

This announcement was shared at the ‘Zero Emission Ship’ seminar held by The Nippon Foundation in May, 2021.

Headquartered at the premises of Japan Engine Corporation HQ factory and led by president, Seiji Shindo, the new HyEng Corporation will focus on the development of hydrogen engine technology, development of international standards and rules for hydrogen fuel supply systems, the integration of hydrogen fuel supply systems and the maintenance and operation of hydrogen fuel engine demonstration facilities.
