Preventive maintenance agreement for COSCO shore power systems

Over 60 ocean-going vessels in COSCO’s fleet are equipped with Cavotec shore power systems. In addition to gradually taking on a broader role in providing preventive maintenance to the COSCO fleet in China and Southeast Asia, Cavotec expects to pilot new innovative service models with COSCO in the region.

Cavotec has established a strong position in the container market, and has supplied well over 600 container vessels with its solutions, compared with over 24,000 installations overall. The Motorship notes that Cavotec’s containerised solution, PowerFit, can be fixed or movable from port to starboard side. It can also be kept in port and placed on the ship when the ship is moored. The potentially swappable nature of the solution makes it highly suitable for power-as-a-service type contracts, The Motorship notes.
