Remote sensor installation aids optimisation

Diamond Bulk Carriers fed its high-frequency sensor data through Nautilus’s software to help the operator make better informed decision, whilst Hoppe Marine, a Nautilus preferred partner, provided instruction and installation services for a vessel owned by Mitsubishi Ore Transport.

As a result of Covid-19 restrictions, installation was conducted remotely. “Especially during these unprecedented times, we’ve seen that data and the insights it brings are key to success,” said Matt Heider, chief executive at Nautilus Labs.

Hoppe Marine transported the data back to shore via its ‘Data Butler’ programme which Nautilus then integrated using an API to give access to the sensor data. “Our Data Butler includes daily data checks, fleet data quality reports and troubleshooting meaures and provides the data basis for optimised fleet planning and vessel operation,” added Hauke Henricks, head of sales at Hoppe Marine.

“Nautilus’s interoperability and the ability to integrate with any third party provider or OEM made the deployment into Hoppe’s Data Butler easy and seamless, allowing our teams to access a single source of truth, fostering cross-departmental collaboration,” said Shusuke Miyazaki, general manager at Diamond Bulk Carriers.
