The information comes from the IoS-Open Platform (OP) promoted by Ship Data Center which is installed on container ships owned by their charter, Ocean Network Express (ONE).

As K LINE, MOL, and NYK have managed the data using different frameworks, ONE needed to convert the data to a format readable by all. IoS-OP is able to automatically convert data to the standard names in line with ISO19858, resulting in simplified analysis and management.

ONE aims to use this data to improve the accuracy of performance evaluations of vessels and machinery to achieve safer and more efficient vessel operations.

This data sharing will significantly increase the volume of ship operational data distributed through IoS-OP and help accelerate the collection, distribution and use of data throughout the maritime industry.
