SMM live: Becker Marine Systems launches its Daggerboard and Steering Gear
These additions expand the company’s portfolio and enhance its reputation for pushing the boundaries of maritime efficiency.
At a recent press conference held at SMM, managing director Henning Kuhlmann introduced the new products, emphasising Becker’s commitment to continuous research and innovation.
The Becker Daggerboard, designed for ships with wind-assisted propulsion systems (WAPS), reduces drift and minimises energy use, boosting both navigation efficiency and power savings. Available in two models, this retractable anti-leeway fin is set to improve vessel handling in all conditions.
The Becker Steering Gear is designed to deliver premium manoeuvrability and reliability. Equipped with a low-pressure hydraulic system, these steering gears are space-efficient and perfect for small compartments, offering durability with minimal maintenance thanks to integrated synthetic bearings and rudder carriers.
Available in eight models with torque ranging from 160 KNm to 500 KNm, the steering gear is tailored for smaller vessels like supply ships, fishing boats, tugs, and yachts.
With these launches, Becker Marine Systems looks set to lead the charge in hydrodynamic innovation
