StormGeo partners with Awake.AI

The collaboration will see Awake.AI’s technology integrated into StormGeo’s s-Insight solution, adding to the company’s portfolio of voyage optimisation services.

Following the move, StormGeo clients will gain access to enhanced estimated time of arrival (ETA) predictions for competing vessels, improved situational awareness regarding port congestion, and the tools necessary to support just-in-time arrival strategies. These capabilities are designed to enable more efficient vessel deployment, while also contributing to emissions reduction and operational cost savings.

According to Rolf Reksten (pictured), vice president of route advisory services at StormGeo, inefficient port interactions and congestion remain significant contributors to delays, emissions, and costs in the maritime industry. “By teaming up with Awake.AI, we are enhancing our voyage optimisation services by allowing our clients to plan their port calls more accurately and efficiently and ultimately help the industry save fuel and reduce emissions,” Reksten said.

Awake.AI’s platform, which covers more than 3,000 ports and generates over 1.5 million voyage predictions daily, leverages a broad array of data inputs. These include historical traffic patterns, emissions statistics, AIS data, and vessel-specific information, all of which are analysed to optimise port calls and minimise idle time.

The integration is achieved through APIs, providing s-Insight users with real-time access to berth availability, port congestion forecasts, traffic event monitoring, and detailed analytics on avoidable waiting time—key components in achieving just-in-time arrival and overall voyage efficiency. StormGeo’s expanded solution continues to build on its foundation of predictive analytics and maritime expertise, helping operators navigate the twin challenges of operational performance and environmental responsibility.
