‘Super-luxury’ cruise ship ordered from Fincantieri
The new ship, described as “super-luxury”, and the interiors, designed for maximum passenger comfort, will be by Tillberg Design, RTKL Associates and I-Crave. She will be named Seven Seas Explorer, and will be built at the Sestri Ponente (Genoa) shipyard with delivery scheduled for summer 2016. The ship will employ the latest environmental protection technologies. The interiors will be particularly sophisticated, with every attention paid to passenger comfort. The renowned studies of will be in charge of interior design.
The contract is valued at around $450 million, and has been financed with the help of export guarantees from SACE (Italy’s export credit agency).
Commenting on the announcement, Fincantieri CEO Giuseppe Bono said: “I am extremely pleased with this new order, which is all the more important because it establishes our global leadership in this sector and strengthens our presence in the luxury segment with the addition of another prestigious brand to our client list, also thanks to the fundamental synergy created by the country through agencies designated to promote Fincantieri exports”.
