TotalEnergies’ first B100 biofuel bunker in Singapore
Last week, 700 metric tons of used cooking oil methyl ester (UCOME)-based biofuel were transferred from the MAPLE, an IMO Type II chemical bunker tanker, to the Glovis Cosmos (pictured), a Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC). The UCOME biodiesel, produced from waste cooking oil in Southeast Asia, is certified under the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) system.
This is the first time TotalEnergies has supplied a 100% biofuel bunker. Previously, the company blended UCOME-based biofuel with VLSFO at up to 30%. Using B100 biofuel has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80-90% compared to traditional marine fuels on a well-to-wake basis.

TotalEnergies has also been involved in biofuel pilot projects with the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) and is developing advanced biofuel blends at its R&D center in France.
In addition to biofuels, the company supplies liquefied natural gas (LNG) and bio-methane bunker fuel in several regions.
