UKHO chief executive steps down

Ian Moncrieff, currently chief operating officer, has been appointed as interim chief executive with immediate effect by the MOD Owners Council and the UKHO Board.

“Mike has been the driving force behind the business for the past five years”, said Sandra Rogers, non-executive chair, UKHO. “His energy, passion and vision have delivered a long list of milestone achievements including the Admiralty Vector Chart Service (AVCS) in 2008, which provided the first global, carriage compliant ENC service and the Admiralty Information Overlay, which gives AVCS customers access to previously unavailable, additional information to make passage planning with ENCs even safer and more efficient”.

Another benchmark that Mr Robinson achieved during his time with the UKHO was the e-navigator, which helped to fundamentally transform the way that digital charts are selected, purchased and updated, the UKHO has said.
