Wärtsilä and Alpha Gas ink service deal

The deal, booked in Q2 2025, aims to enhance vessel reliability, improve operational insights and ensure predictable maintenance costs for Alpha Gas.

“Our emphasis is on enabling the highest level of efficiency and reliability throughout our fleet,” said Peter Lonski, technical director, Alpha Gas.

“This agreement with Wärtsilä will help us achieve that goal, while allowing us to accurately predict maintenance costs. We also expect to extend the time between overhauls, thanks to dynamic maintenance planning.”

This is the second such agreement between the two companies, following a similar deal signed in November 2024 for two other LNG carriers.

All four vessels – Energy Pacific, Energy Endeavour, Energy Integrity and Energy Intelligence – are now covered under Wärtsilä’s Lifecycle Agreement programme.

Under the deal, Wärtsilä will provide continuous remote support, condition monitoring and data-driven diagnostics to optimise vessel performance and prevent unplanned downtime. The proactive service model aims to reduce lifecycle and operational costs by identifying and addressing issues before they escalate into expensive repairs or require on-site intervention.

“We work closely with customers like Alpha Gas to tailor solutions that meet their specific operational needs,” explained Henrik Wilhelms, director of agreement sales at Wärtsilä Marine.

“These agreements are designed to support efficiency, reliability and environmental compliance as the industry works toward its net-zero targets by 2050.”

The agreement comes as LNG operators increasingly seek to safeguard uptime and asset performance amid tightening environmental and economic pressures.
