Wärtsilä brings e-trading platform on board

The web-based trading platform brings ship managers and maritime suppliers together in one online marketplace and is said to be the only maritime software to work with a master database in the cloud.

Built up over many years, the database contains the technical details of the millions of pieces and machinery required on a ship. Previous tie-ups include MAN Energy Solutions.

Wärtsilä has an extensive portfolio of integrated products and solutions for all shipping segments and with the integration to MESPAS there is now a fully automated data flow between the two software systems.

Ship managers using MESPAS Connect will now be able to benefit from immediate electronic offers from Wärtsilä with clear price indications. With the click of a button ship managers can request offers, place orders, receive invoices and approve payments.

Wärtsilä in turn can make offers, accept orders and send invoices meaning the whole procurement process becomes faster, more streamlined, straightforward and efficient.
