WE Tech wins VLECs order

The order represents WE Tech’s first order from a Chinese shipowner.

WE Tech is to deliver its energy efficient Solution One (Economic Operation Solution) together with a direct drive permanent magnet shaft generator to a series of three VLECs.

The solution significantly decreases the vessels fuel consumption, operation expenditure and maintenance cost by turning off the auxiliary generator during sailing. In Power Take Out (PTO) mode, WE Drive enables propulsion machinery to operate in combinator/variable speed while the Direct Drive Permanent Magnet Shaft Generator produces electrical power for the vessel’s electrical network.

With the variable speed frequency drive and the Permanent Magnet Shaft Generator technology the energy efficiency of the solution reaches unmatched levels in the marine industry,” says Mr Martin Andtfolk, Sales Manager of WE Tech Solutions.

Delivery of the equipment will commence in 2021.
