Weco retrofit at St Nazaire

The retrofit is being undertaken in January 2019, when the Wedellsborg will be modified at the St Nazaire shipyard in France. WECO RoRo chose St Nazaire because of Clemessy Services’ experience undertaking retrofits as a sub-contractor, although this is the first such retrofit at St Nazaire. The 20,000-hour project is expected to be completed within a month.

The scrubbers being installed are in line technology, supplied by PureteQ. Alongside the installation of scrubbers, the Wedellsborg is being fitted with ERMA FIRST’s FIT ballast water treatment system. This combines a 40 micron backwash filter with an electrolysis cell.

The Wedellsborg was built at Cantiere Navale Visentini in Italy in 2014.
