Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex is at the centre of the Russian Federation's LNG carrier construction programme.

The 172,600 cubic metre LNG carrier vessels are being built for an unspecified Russian ship owner. The vessels are scheduled for delivery between the second half of 2024 and the end of 2025. GTT previously received an order from Zvezda for five Arc7 vessels in July 2020.

“We are very pleased to work with Zvezda and look forward to continuing this partnership through this second order for ten ARC7 ice-breaking LNG Carriers”, said Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT.

The Arc7 LNGCs are intended to operate in connection with Russian LNG producer Novatek’s projects in northern Russia. GTT technologies have been adapted for heavy environmental conditions, allowing LNCGs to operate and navigate safely in ice-covered waters.
