HHI and WinGD integrate data tools

In 2017, HHI launched its INTEGRICT-Smart Ship (ISS) solution, which collects and analyses real-time navigation and enhance the efficiency and safety of ships. Under the new collaboration, the system will be able include analysis of data collected from the engine and engine components by WinGD’s recently developed Engine Diagnostic System (EDS).

The collaboration will empower ship owners and operators to reduce a ship’s operational cost by providing insight on how to operate the ship and its engine more efficiently. The integrated systems will also enable quick and accurate responses to challenges related to engine and ship operations.

Carmelo Cartalemi, general manager, business development, WinGD said: “Recent progress in information and communications technology and the availability of robust digital solutions are creating new opportunities within the marine industry. The integration [of the two systems] creates the possibility to access even more detailed data analysis, leading to unique and highly valuable insights.”

Heung Won Seo, research director, HHI, added: “With WinGD we have the possibility to access deeper insights from the main engine. Combined with our system this offers our customers a level of knowledge and understanding of their ship that is unparalleled.”

HHI and WinGD plan to collaborate on further technologies to support ship owners.
