CMR’s smart engine solution at SMM

The company’s range of smart wiring, instrumentation and engineering solutions for industrial, power and marine applications are built around proprietary J-SENSE technology linked to its range of J1939 Connect CAN smart sensors and harnesses.

“Visitors to our stand will see how advanced electronic component reliability is allowing for better configuration and higher performance of marine horsepower engines,” said Gerard Baldellou, marine division manager at CMR.

Mr Baldellou said that CMR is partnering closely with engine OEMs to develop solutions to meet the reliability and lifetime challenges for industrial engine sensors, while trying to minimise engine delivery cost.

“We anticipate significant interest in our full vessel automation capabilities, which can manage all the requisite system design and development processes,” he said.

CMR technology utilises next-generation equipment and software, combining power management and integrated alarm & control monitoring technologies alongside propulsion and auxiliary engine control and a supervisory system.

These are based on an Ethernet network loop architecture, which communicates with other on-board systems.

Mr Baldellou said that IAMCS microprocessor-based systems contain all necessary functions for protection and control of the complete marine ship installation and can be fully integrated with other systems to provide full Vessel Management System capability for craft of all sizes.
